Synthesis and Hafner Associates Interior Design
provided design-build services for the renovation of an existing dining hall
at a historic campus in downtown Albany, New York. The project required that
the architect, as the design-builder, meet a 120-day construction schedule.
The design solution was planned to improve convenience
for students, facilitate improved meal preparatation, and reduce staffing
requirements. Features included new millwork, seating, lighting, flooring,
and wall finishes, which create an elegant interior design solution that enhances
existing historic details. The result is a sophisticated environment that
caters to a mature student population of upperclassmen and graduate students.
