Synthesis redesigned the streetside landscape of this public housing authority complex to provide an attractive street face for the development and shield the property from traffic along a heavily-traveled highway. Breaking the mold for typical housing authority landscaping, the design is based on a series of undulating berms which provide a barrier between housing and highway and form a rhythm for the mass plantings along this linear space. A wide variety of plant types ensures interest throughout the year.
