This community service project for the Bellevue
Neighborhood Association, in cooperation with the County of Schenectady, involved
the design and fabrication of ironwork for the pavilion in Fairview Park.
Synthesis donated design time and construction
management for custom window and door grilles, and the county paid for their
fabrication and installation. The open pavilion had been improperly used in
the past, and a fire set within it caused the roof to burn and required replacement.
The object was to design wrought iron grilles that would compliment the pavilion
design and be an aesthetic asset to the park, while inhibiting access to the
structure. The four doors can be key-opened for use of the pavilion during
public events.
